HR Generalist 

JONESWORKS, a strategy-driven communications, marketing, and management agency, is seeking a driven, experienced, and highly organized HR Generalist in our New York office.

This HR Generalist will manage various aspects of the HR function of for JONESWORKS including but not limited to recruitment, on-boarding and off-boarding, training and development, policy compliance, talent and performance management, team member relations and terminations. The ideal candidate has prior experience working in a fast-paced HR environment, conducts fluid recruitment, understands agency environment, and enjoys team member engagement. The HR Generalist will be savvy, tactful, and passionate about supporting the growth and development of team members and the company in NY and LA.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Create a recruitment plan and calendar according to operation and projections
  • Responsible for sourcing, recruiting, attracting, and interviewing prospective employees to find the perfect match for a company’s long-term goals
  • Generating official documents such as reference checks, offer letters/employment agreements, and salary notifications
  • Creating onboarding and offboarding plans and educating newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations
  • Maintaining diligent files for employees and their documents, benefits, and attendance records
  • Creating employee engagement plans, getting necessary budget approval, and initiating activities
  • Evaluating employee performance evaluations, appraising their pay scale accordingly and diligently track compliance
  • Keeping up to date on current employment legislation and regulations in NY and LA, enforcing them within the company and taking appropriate disciplinary action against employees who violate rules and regulations
  • Support the business in compiling termination documentation, attending termination meetings, and completing exist interviews
  • Engage with all employees to understand any/all concerns and seek solutions
  • Proactively identify and suggest ideas to motivate and develop employees
  • Write reports on HR department activities and research new HR trends.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years Human Resources Generalist Experience (including talent sourcing, recruiting, employee relations, compensations, and benefit administration)
  • Ability to be a self-started and manage matrix workload with minimal supervision
  • Ability to be confidential with person information in various situations
  • An organized problem solver, able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment with strong decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and remail calm
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to draft correspondence with minimal direction
