Account Executive, Entertainment + Talent Division – New York

JONESWORKS, a full-service marketing, communications and management agency is seeking a passionate, creative, and highly organized Account Executive for our New York office.

Account Executive Duties:

  • Develop creative, results-driven public relations programs to support client objectives, partnerships, launches and activations
  • Develop story ideas and creative pitches for targeted media
  • Vet inbound press, marketing and partnership opportunities for clients
  • Serve as daily client contact and address client issues thoughtfully and effectively
  • Work closely with PR and Marketing partners on behalf of client
  • Manage and help mentor Junior Account Executives, Account Coordinators and Interns with a positive and proactive attitude
  • Support and collaborate with Senior Executive team
  • Staff client events such as press tours, red carpets, photo and content shoots, media days, etc.
  • Oversee and manage materials for team and client meetings/calls
  • Draft and manage press-facing and client-facing materials
  • Monitor media coverage and report results to team and clients
  • Actively network and engage with media across entertainment, lifestyle, business, trade, and consumer outlets

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Candidates must have 2-4 years public relations experience working with talent. Agency experience preferred.
  • Strong media relationships – broadcast, long lead and digital as well as a strong portfolio which demonstrates results
  • Ability to work well with others and take direction as well as mentor and manage junior level executives and interns
  • Ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality
  • Proficient in working with Muck Rack, Cision, and other entertainment research-based programs
  • Creative and energetic personality
  • Professional, yet friendly people skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Extremely strong and responsive written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to see around corners, anticipate needs and be resourceful
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • B.S/B.A in public relations, journalism, business communications or equivalent work experience
